What

Kits, blankets and a helping hand

Welcome Kits, room refreshes, First Home Kits and Move In Days.

Who

Treasure Valley foster youth

Kids entering foster care, and young adults 18 to 23 moving into a first place.

How

Summit funds it. Partners deliver it.

The First Home Fund covers the kits. Local foster care partners know where each one is needed.

Picture night one

A new house. New faces. Nothing of their own.

Many children come into foster care suddenly, sometimes after dark, with only the clothes they are wearing. First Home starts right there: a backpack that is theirs, pajamas that fit, a book for bedtime, and a blanket to pull up close.

Foster Family Refresh

Planned as part of the program: a free room paint and clean for local foster families getting ready for a new placement.

Painting and cleaning are what our crew does every day. Here, it becomes a fresh, calm room waiting for a child, at no cost to the family.

Refreshes will be arranged through our local foster care partners once the program launches.

The heart of First Home

The First Home Blanket

In the Phillips family, a warm blanket has always marked a new beginning. First Home carries that tradition forward.

Every Welcome Kit and every First Home Kit will include a blanket that belongs to one child or one young adult, theirs to keep wherever life takes them. Tucked inside each one, a card:

In our family, a blanket marks a new beginning. This blanket is yours, to welcome you home.

Why First Home

Danah knows firsthand what it means when family steps in. First Home is his way of standing up for kids in foster care, from the night a child first arrives to the day a young adult moves into a place of their own.

Summit Solutions proudly backs this program, and Danah leads it.
